Get to Know Kristen Chamberlin!

Tell us a bit about yourself!

Hello! I’m Kristen. I am a California native, having grown up in Gilroy and Pebble Beach. My earliest memories are of sitting in a pew
and sensing God’s welcoming presence—an experience that has shaped my life ever since. I’ve been trying to follow Jesus for as long as I can remember, mostly through a path of stumbling, learning, and continuing to show up.

I studied theology at both the undergraduate and graduate level, and I remain drawn to questions of faith, formation, and what it means to be known and loved by God. Those questions take shape in the ordinary rhythms of life with my husband and our two children—where following Jesus often looks like releasing the need for answers and growing in presence, patience, and openness.

What inspired you to join the team at Wellspring?

I have always been a curious person, drawn to questions about who God is, what it means to be human, and how we are formed into people who can receive and reflect God’s love. Wellspring has given me a place to explore those questions in community and to help others do the same. The Director of Integration role felt like a natural way to bring together that curiosity with my love of people, discipleship, teaching, and creating meaningful connections.

Most of our team is bi-vocational, what else are you up to these days?

Outside of Wellspring, I run my family insurance agency.

What was your first experience with ministry like?

I am not sure I have one clear first memory of ministry, though I suppose it began when I served as an altar server as a child. Over the years, I have worked as a chaplain at a children’s hospital, led classes on spiritual formation, and participated in mentoring relationships. The common thread through all of these experiences has been the realization that God comes to us in both the big moments and the small ones.

What are some things you are excited to do in your position here?

I am also excited to help create clearer connections between the many good things already happening at Wellspring. I am excited to continue building out our discipleship pathways.

What fills your cup outside of work, school, and church?

Outside of work, my cup is full of family, being outside and reading. I really enjoy good coffee, throwing a ball with Samuel, listening to Hannah tell jokes and watching baseball with Benjamin.
